We paid the place a visit to make a booking for the following day. One of us is in a wheel chair so we like to ensure pleases we eat have a suitable table e.g. Height of tables/space to move. The staff were so helpful, and allowed us to pick and test a table to make sure the wheelchair could fit for the next day. The food was absolutely unreal, and the staff that we spoke to / our server were also friendly. We will be back next time we are in the area!

What a lovely restaurant! Lovely setting with a good atmosphere. We enjoyed traditional Whitby fish and chips that were cooked to perfection. Everything freshly cooked to order and piping hot. The staff were amazing too – polite, professional and attentive. A big shout out to Jodie and Debbie, thank you for looking after us so well! We will definitely be back x x.

I came to Whitby in search of gluten free fish & chips and by God I found them at Quayside. What I experienced here was less “meal” and more “life-altering gluten free event.” The fish? So fresh I half expected it to introduce itself. Flaky, delicate, and cooked to absolute perfection, the kind of crisp GF batter that shatters with every bite like it knows it’s the star of the show. And the chips? Golden, fluffy, and clearly living their best lives…

The Quayside sits in an absolutely stunning building, which has the complete “Wow” factor, and everywhere is shiningly, spotlessly clean. My husband opted for the cod, while I went for the sea bass. I must say the cod was the most beautiful, fresh, melt in the mouth and delicious either of us have ever had anywhere ever ! My sea bass was a very generous sized two fillet portion, with a large portion of tasty salad and chips. I ate all my chips… which is unheard of – and so is a great compliment to the venue ! The staff were all very helpful and efficient. All in all The Quayside is simply pure class – in both the venue, and the food !

went in December 25 and it was excellent. Both myself and my partner had fish and chips it arrived quickly but not many in. Meal was enough for us and was asked if we wanted scraps. We had pudding and that was delicious. The table beside us had a knicker blocker glory like me and they had a flake. So the waiter came and jokingly complained they had a flake and i didnt lol,so they came back to me with 2 flakes on a plate i did laugh. The astmosphere was good the waiting staff friendly and happy to help. I would and have recommended this place. Thank you all so much

Visited for lunch after long coastal path walk. Excellent welcome, sparkling clean and tidy restaurant. Immaculate toilets. Fish and chips and scampi and chips were superb as was the service. Good value drinks also. We were very impressed and hugely enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend.

If you’re going to Whitby for fish and chips don’t queue up for polystyrene trays and greasy fingers, and eat standing up surrounded by smells. Walk a bit further and find this place. It’s comfortable, the staff are friendly and it’s not expensive. The fish and chips, and there’s a variety, are excellent. Also, there’s good dry white wine, clean tables and toilets and that’s not true of all of Whitby.

You can not go to Whitby and not have fish and chips .With so much choice this one is one of the best. We choose to eat in to avoid the seagulls . Great friendly service food was great value and freshly cooked . We had two small cod and chips served with the Irish curry and a cup of tea
